The Pocatello Police Department is asking people to avoid the area of South 5th and Jason due to a fatality accident between a vehicle and a pedestrian. Pocatello Police Dispatchers received the call at 5:46 p.m. on 12-10-22. Officers arrived on scene a short time later. The pedestrian, an unidentified adult female, appeared to be attempting to cross the street when she was struck by a vehicle travelling southbound on 5th Avenue in the area of Common Cents. The driver of the vehicle, an adult male, stopped and cooperated with the investigation. Idaho State Police assisted the Pocatello Police Department with the investigation and alcohol was determined to be a factor. The driver, Darwin Reisner (10-20-58) was taken into custody for vehicular manslaughter. The accident investigation is ongoing at this time.
