For those who want something fun to do this weekend that doesn’t involve shopping, here’s a list of festive activities to get you and your family in the holiday spirit.
December 17, 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.: Santa Claus is Coming to the Rez! Facebook Event notes read: After two years of Covid-19 restrictions, Fort Hall Recreation is pleased to welcome Santa & Mrs. Claus back into the gym on Saturday, December 17th @ noon. Our theme this year is “Frozen Winter Wonderland;” every child will have the opportunity to express their wishes, take a photo and receive gifts prepared by the elves. All tribal royalty are invited to participate with a treat/gift bag handout, traditional attire is suggested. For more information, click on the flyer below:
December 17, 2:00 and 7:00 p.m.: The Alliance Academy of Dance will present The Nutcracker at Century High School’s Auditorium. To purchase tickets, click here.
December 17 at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m., and December 19 at 7:30 p.m.: A Dickens Christmas at Assemblé, located at 820 E Young St. in Pocatello. For more information, click on the image below:
December 17, 4:00-6:00 p.m.: 34th Annual Festival of Lights at the Universalist Unitarian Fellowship, located at 225 N Main St, Pocatello. Facebook Event notes read: Pocatello Unitarian Universalist Fellowship brings a family friendly celebration of world wintertime traditions including Hanukkah, Christmas, Diwali, Solstice, Bodhi Day, and Kwanza. Program starts at 4pm, with beverages and chalice cookies following at 5pm. Free and open to all! Cash donations are accepted and will support the Pocatello Free Clinic. December 17 and 18, 6:00-8:00 p.m.: Santa and Mrs. Claus will be handing out candy canes at 2075 Satterfield Drive in Pocatello. Stop by with the kids and enjoy the lights and music (tune to FM 88.3)!
