Pocatello–Among the topics considered at the SD 25 Board of Trustees meeting last Tuesday, June 20, was a vote on Policy 3304, Parent/Guardian Rights. The policy requires that school personnel advise parents of any changes to their students’ “mental, emotional or physical health or wellbeing.”
Board member Deanna Judy proposed that the policy include a specific requirement that parents be notified if their student wishes to use a different name or identify as a different gender. Angie Oliver seconded the motion. Judy and Oliver voted in favor of the clarification; board members Jim Facer, Paul Vitale, and Heather Clarke opposed it.
A video clip of the vote has been circulating on local Facebook groups and message threads. Community reaction has been mixed, with one commenter stating that the motion “specifically targets and harms trans kids,” and others expressing concern that by failing to notify parents of gender and name changes, the district is “usurping parental authority” and “keep[ing] parents in the dark.”
The full meeting can be watched on the District’s YouTube channel, here, or by clicking on the link below. The discussion of Judy’s proposal begins at time stamp 2:59; the vote occurs at 3:03.
All five of the Trustees were contacted to request that they comment on the motion and their votes; Ms. Judy declined to comment, and the remaining members failed to respond to the request in any way.

So they decided that parents don’t have rights at their school and they prefer to indoctrinate and hide it.
Further divides parents from their children. That’s the underlying agenda in the woke left. Wake up!
