The annual picnic for all Marines, FMF Corpsmen, members of Pocatello’s Stephen D Merrell Detachment #698 of the Marine Corps League, and associate members of the League, is scheduled to take place this coming Saturday, August 19. The venue for the event, which will take place at 12:00 noon, is Jensen’s Grove in Blackfoot.
The League is furnishing hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, condiments, and paper supplies. Members to bring beverages and a potluck dish to share.
The mission of the Marine Corps League is to promote the interest and to preserve traditions of the United States Marine Corps; strengthen the fraternity of Marines and their families; serve Marines, FMF Corpsmen, and FMF Chaplains who wear or who have worn the Eagle, Globe and Anchor; and foster the ideals of Americanism and patriotic volunteerism.
