NO SANITATION INCREASE – We’re Getting Really Good at Picking Up Garbage
A POSITIVE to come from the FY24 Budget is that the 5-year rate-study-directed annual 3% Sanitation fee increase will be covered for one year with Sanitation Department reserves (currently estimated @ $7M.) The Sanitation Department has over time incorporated newer technologies (route software, etc.) to improve efficiencies and prevent consumers from cheating the system. Plus there is an increase in demand for services like roll-offs, etc. This has resulted in them overachieving revenue projections.
What does that mean for consumers? (Other than make sure you get your cans out to the curb on time.)
NO INCREASE to Sanitation Fees for FY2024 (10/01/23 -09/30/24).
