A Close Win in Utah for the Thunder 

Pocatello High School Thunder took on the Mountain Crest Mustangs last Friday, August 25, in a non-division match up.

The game started with a field goal by Mustangs kicker Boyd Oakey from 18 yards away.  It remained a 3-0 contest going into the Second quarter, then Alijah Brock caught a 30 yard touchdown with an extra point to follow, making the game 7-3.  The game went into half at 7-3.  As the third quarter came to a close, Mustangs tight end Dax Benson scored a 20-yard touchdown, but sadly an missed extra point to follow to make the game 7-9. Then with a late forth quarter touchdown the Thunder won the game 16-9.

With Poky increasing to 1-0, Mountain Crest drops to 0-1. The Thunder have their next game in Nampa Against the Ridgevue Warhawks of Nampa this coming Friday at 7:00.

Another Loss for D-Backs at Home

Century went against Hillcrest last Friday night in Pocatello.  The first quarter started with a touchdown by Hillcrest with an extra point to follow, making it a 7-0 lead.  From that point there was no hope for the Diamondbacks, who lost 44-0.

With Hillcrest increasing to 1-0, Century drops to 0-2. The Diamondbacks have their next game here at home against the Bonneville Bees of Idaho Falls on Friday at 7:00 p.m.

Huge Win for Bannock County’s 5A Rams  

Highland Rams went against the Skyline Grizzlies this past Friday night in Pocatello under the lights.  It was never a close game.  The Highland Rams destroyed the Grizzlies with a lights out performance by Rams Senior Drew Hymas, who threw for 137 Yards and 1 Touchdown. Drew’s main target was Rhidge Barela, with 60 yards receiving and 1 touchdown.
