Idaho Falls–Stand Up For Idaho, an Idaho Falls-based nonpartisan citizens’ organization that peacefully and actively advocates for the rights and liberties of all Idaho citizens, is hosting a presentation on “The Dangers of Social Media to Our Children” at their next Wednesday meeting on August 30. The speaker, retired police officer Kevin Pettingill, is a former DARE officer who is passionate about protecting children.
SUFI’s announcement reads:
Kevin is a former DARE officer and as such has seen more than most of us. The dangers of social media to our children are extremely important concerns and everyone (parents, teens, grandparents, etc.) needs to come hear what Kevin has to tell us. The life of someone you love may depend on it. Please invite everyone you know.
Kevin loves and adores his 13 grandchildren, four children and their spouses, and best of all his wife. He loves his faith, this country, and this community. Kevin has a great passion to help our youth be safe, smart, and kind. Kevin is currently enjoying a very busy retirement from the Idaho Falls Police Department. Kevin is excited to see if he can help someone be a little bit smarter in this tumultuous world.
The class will be held at the Snake River Event Center (Shilo Inn), located at 780 Lindsay Blvd. in Idaho Falls. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the class begins at 6:30 p.m.
