We have some exciting news! Starting October 2nd, you will no longer be required to check in using the kiosks at the DMV!
I know how frustrating the iPad process was for so many of our visitors. Finding a solution to this was one of my first priorities for the DMV when I came into office. So, after working with my DMV Lead (Kandice), I believe we found a great solution that will allow us to continue scheduling appointments for folks who like that feature AND make things simpler for those who prefer to walk in.
Beginning October 2nd, walk-in visitors can just take a number from a good old-fashioned ticket system, like at a deli or bakery. When your number is called, it’s your turn. Simple! We like this system because it keeps the “line” organized and requires minimal effort or technology experience to use. Plus, people will still be able to sit on our provided benches while they wait rather than standing in a line.
Also, starting October 2nd, we will be swapping out our appointment scheduling system on our website for a similar feature that will cost $10,000 less a year! I’m very excited about the cost savings for virtually the same service.
We hope this will make your experience at the Bannock County DMV easier and more enjoyable. Next time you visit us, please tell us what you think of the new system! We want to hear from you about your experience so we can continue to improve our service. If you have questions, feel free to call us at 208-236-7200.
