* City initiated Text Amendments to Title 17: Zoning Regulations:

* Garbage and Refuse Ordinance Review and Update – Title 13.28

We RECOMMEND the general public read through the ordinance changes for Garbage/Refuse.
Some changes are administrative clean-up and/or “strengthening” language to reflect actual practices. But, others change current practice/policy.
For example: If approved, garbage service will be required for anyone with water/sewer service. There is also new language to charge “special” charges for refuse not contained within the approved receptacle.
While the changes won’t affect a majority of citizens, they do have potential to impact some in our community, so it’s important for the public to be aware. At some point in the future, we hope our elected leaders will consider communicating proposed changes to the general public in advance in order to elicit feedback prior to approval. NOTE: This ordinance is not yet approved.
