MARTIN SIMMONS – School District 25 Trustee Candidate – ZONE 3

QUESTIONS FOR POCATELLO-CHUBBUCK SCHOOL DISTRICT 25 CANDIDATES

1. What experiences and/or skills do you have that contribute toward you being the best candidate for this position?

I am currently at ISU going to school to receive a degree. My other education has been with professional licenses and military schools and training. I received my first professional license in California for masonry in 1979. I received my General Contractors license in Utah in November 1989. Held several instructor qualified MOSs in the military. They are as follows leadership, marksmanship, physical training, cover and concealment, directives and files, food inspection, Administration. I have written a book that is published and is used as a reference book in 12 universities around the world.

2. How do you plan to learn about and then best represent the interests of your Zone?

I will first seek to be familiar with as many things surrounding and affecting the schools. I will concentrate on returning to principled factual education and not radical hysteria.

3. Identify an issue within the district that needs improvement and how do you intend to address that issue?

The district needs great improvement in reaching out and listening to the parents. We need to get away from opinionated emotion things that have seemed to be in our schools. Sexual orientation and gender identity is not for the schools to teach, but has no place in the school. Factual history especially concerning the constitution and this great nation with facts and objective specifics not opinionated hogwash.

4. Open – for your comments or message to voters.

Sorry I didn’t get to this sooner. My message to the voters is simple. Where were we 50 years ago in our education standards compared with other countries. We were at the top. Where are we now? At the bottom. Lets get back to what works; reading, writing, math and factual principled based thought.
