The Board of Community Guardians provides assistance to adult citizens who are not able to make decisions for themselves. Protected persons, or wards, under our guardianship have been deemed incapacitated or “developmentally disabled” by the court, therefore lack the insight to make safe decisions regarding their healthcare, financial, or basic care needs. Our role is to ensure these vulnerable adults are protected from exploitation, abuse, and neglect. The BOCG assists protected persons in decision-making related to finding safe housing, ensuring medical needs are seen to, financial needs, and exploring social support options.
