This Saturday, December 16, the Wreaths Across America ceremony for Pocatello, Idaho, will take place at Mountain View Cemetery (near Brady Chapel) beginning at 10:00 a.m.

The Wreaths Across America website states, “Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, our mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 2,100 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad.”

In Pocatello, the ceremony is conducted by the local Civil Air Patrol, Pocatello Composite Squadron, and the POW*MIA Awareness Association.  The public is invited to attend.  The group expects to place over 200 wreaths this year.

The POW*MIA Awareness Association explains, “Meet at Brady Chapel in Mountain View Cemetery on for a ceremony performed by our Civil Air Patrol. After the ceremony, we will begin placing wreaths. Some wreaths have been specifically sponsored by families of local fallen soldiers. The remaining wreaths will be place on veterans’ graves in sections 26 & 27.”
