When we left off in our February newsletter, the Board of Commissioners was planning to discuss what direction to take after hearing the public input about the solar ordinance.

During that discussion, the Board decided to change directions and create an ordinance banning large-scale solar and wind projects in Bannock County. You can read the proposed ordinance here.

The Planning & Development Council held a public hearing on March 5th for these ordinance amendments. The Council voted to approve the amendments, excluding sections 395 and 451. You can listen to the hearing here.

Next, the Board of Commissioners will hear the Council’s recommendations at a public hearing on March 26th at 11 a.m. in the courthouse; the public will be permitted to submit testimony before or during the meeting. We hope you’ll join us and share your thoughts!
