Step 1: Register
The first step to vote in this election is to make sure you’re registered. You might be thinking, “I’m good, I’ve been registered for years,” BUT if you have…
- changed your name
- moved
- not voted since 2020
…then you must re-register to vote!
To check your voter registration, visit voteidaho.gov or call the Bannock County Elections Office at 208-236-7333.
You have two options to register.
Option 1: Register online at voteidaho.gov before October 11, 2024 (TOMORROW!).
Option 2: Register when you vote at the polls or during the early voting period. Bring a photo ID card and a piece of mail with your name and physical address.

Step 2: View the sample ballots
Find out what will be on your ballot before you vote.
Sample ballots are different depending on where you live. To find what your ballot will look like, visit My Voter Record (voteidaho.gov) and search your name and date of birth. Scroll to the bottom of your voter information to “Sample Ballot,” and click “View.” Your sample ballot will download to your device.
Or, you can view all the sample ballot options in Bannock County on the Elections webpage.
Step 3: Make a voting plan
Now that you’re ready to vote, it’s time to decide how and when you’ll cast your ballot. You have three options:
Option 1: Vote on Election Day
Determine whether you will be able to vote on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Then, find where your polling place is located by using our interactive map.
Option 2: Vote Early
If you cannot vote on Election Day, early voting is available.
When: October 1 – November 1
Where: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Where: *141 North 6th Avenue, Map it
If you’re voting early, please remember that North 6th Avenue is under construction. We are directing folks to park in the lot behind the Elections building, and we’ve designated a row for voter parking. Check out the map below to see where parking and the entrance is.
Option 3: Vote Absentee
If you can’t vote in person, you can vote by mail, but you have to request your absentee ballot by the deadline. Idaho does not issue absentee ballots unless requested.
Request an absentee ballot on voteidaho.gov by Friday, October 25, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. MST.
To submit your absentee ballot, you can:
- Return by mail
- Return to the collection box at Elections Office – 141 North 6th Avenue – The collection box has been moved to the back door during construction. See the map below.
Remember: Absentee ballots must be received by the Bannock County Elections Office no later than 8 p.m. on Election Day.
