In response to a recommendation to close Washington Elementary School, the group, ‘Washington Elementary Advocates’ will be holding a ‘March for Washington’ this Saturday, December 14, beginning at 11:00 and starting at Caldwell Park in Pocatello.
The program notes on the event post they have on Facebook reads in part:
The intention for this rally/march is to be optimistic and positive! We encourage you and your children to bring signs to show the school board trustees why Washington Elementary is important to you!
Please join us in gathering as learners, teachers & staff, alumni, families, neighbors and community members as we rally to show our love for Washington Elementary School. We will gather and walk from Caldwell Park to Washington as a united group. Once at Washington, we will join hands around the school for a group photo taken by a drone.
