(City of Pocatello Press Release, December 8, 2025)
Pocatello Mayor Brian Blad has selected three students to receive the 2025 “Pocatello’s Promise of Tomorrow Mayoral Scholarship.”
Now in its sixth year, the scholarship program awards each recipient a two-year scholarship totaling $2,000, distributed at $500 per semester, to use at Idaho State University.
2025 Scholarship Recipients:
- Addison Sparrow – Highland High School – Bachelor of Applied Science
- Dayton Jordan Williams – Highland High School – Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with Criminal Concentration
- Derek Stuart Williams – Highland High School – Master of Social Work
“I am excited to announce this year’s 2025 recipients. All of our applicants are very impressive and have picked great paths for their education. I wish them all the best and know they each have a bright future,” said Mayor Blad.
The Mayoral Scholarship Committee reviewed and selected the awardees based on possible roadblocks to higher education, personal and academic goals, and financial need.
The scholarship program is made possible through a collaboration with the Pocatello-Chubbuck Chamber Foundation and funded by generous contributions from Idaho Central Credit Union, Lookout Credit Union, D.L. Evans Bank, Citizens Community Bank, Frontier Credit Union, and U.S. Bank.
