[Today] marks the start of Idaho’s 2026 legislative session, when months of preparation turn into public debate, policy decisions, and accountability at the Capitol.

The day begins at 11:00 a.m. with the Idaho Republican Party’s legislative agenda presentation, delivered by Chairwoman Dorothy Moon. Chairwoman Moon invites Idahoans to attend in person at the Lincoln Auditorium in the Idaho State Capitol, where she will outline the Idaho GOP’s priorities for the 2026 legislative session.

Later in the day, at 1:00 p.m. Mountain Time, Governor Brad Little will deliver his 2026 State of the State and Budget Address from the Idaho House Chambers at the Capitol (700 W. Jefferson Street, Boise). The State of the State sets the tone for the session ahead, outlining the administration’s priorities and proposed budget direction.

This legislative session follows the Idaho Republican Party’s winter meeting held this past weekend, where legislators, party leaders, precinct committeemen, and grassroots activists from across the state gathered. The weekend concluded with a great gala, a meaningful opportunity to connect, reflect, and celebrate the people doing the work behind the scenes to keep Idaho strong.

As the session begins, I encourage Idahoans to stay engaged, watch the proceedings, and follow along as legislation is introduced and debated. Transparency and participation matter, and this is where it all begins.

In Liberty,

Senator Tammy Nichols
District 10
