Washington–On Friday, the U.S. Department of War released a 34-page document summarizing the nation’s security priorities for 2026. After describing the current security situation in regards to the Western Hemisphere and nations around the world, the document sets forth the War Department’s strategic approach:
- Defend the U.S. Homeland
- Deter China in the Indo-Pacific Through Strength, Not Confrontation
- Increase Burden-Sharing with U.S. Allies and Partners
- Supercharge the U.S. Defense Industrial Base
