Boise–The Idaho Freedom Foundation has released their annual Pork Report. In an email received on Monday, they share some of the details:
Today, Idaho Freedom Foundation is proud to release the 2026 Pork Report: Idaho’s Report on Government Waste!
And this year, the findings are enough to make you squeal.
Our researchers uncovered well over $2 BILLION in spending we identify as government waste, misuse, and misappropriation, including:
- $200 million for Idaho’s error-plagued LUMA financial management system.
- $78 million in spending on literacy programs and training teachers to teach reading.
- $97 million for the Department of Environmental Quality, much of whose work involves administering federal environmental regulations.
- $4 million in federal funding to advance AI innovation in Idaho colleges.
And that’s just scratching the surface.
