The deadline to apply for a Zoo Idaho internship is fast approaching.

A post on the City of Pocatello’s website reads,  “Zoo Idaho education interns will sail into Idaho wildlife informal education!  This position aims to prepare individuals for a position working as an informal environmental educator with interest in local wildlife biology and ecology.  Interns will be trained on the legal and safety issues associated with working with youth as well as how to translate sophisticated science to youth.  They will work closely with the Education Curator in the development and delivery of lessons for K-12 informal education.  Interns will also be trained on proper husbandry techniques and animal care standards.

This is an unpaid internship for high school students.  The internship is a 20-hour-per-week commitment June-August.
