With residents spending an increasing amount of time on the water, the City of Pocatello has announced a free seminar covering river safety basics.

On the City website it states, “As the Portneuf gets more popular take this free class to become more familiar with river rescue skills, hazard identification, obstacles avoidance, gear selection and understanding flow.  This seminar focuses on the Portneuf River around Pocatello specifically but is broadly applicable.  Pre-registration is appreciated.”

The class is scheduled for Thursday, June 24, at 5:30 p.m., and will be held at Taysom Rotary Park, 1663 S. Bannock Highway in Pocatello.
