September 14, 2022
Pocatello, ID–The third Friday in September (Sept. 16, 2022) is National POW/MIA Recognition Day. This day honors the commitment and sacrifices made by our nation’s prisoners of war and those U.S. service members and civilians from our past wars who never made it home. Today we pause to remember that there are still 81,500 Americans unaccounted for from our nation’s past conflicts. The Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency operates tirelessly in 46 countries around the world to provide the fullest possible accounting for our missing personnel to their families and the nation. Please take a moment today to remember those who served our country and have yet to come home.
Pocatello’s POW*MIA Awareness Association will be having a ceremony at the Southeast Idaho Veterans Memorial in Upper Ross Park, at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 16, in recognition of National POW/MIA Recognition Day.
