Karyn Simmons has been named editor of the Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer, effective immediately.
Simmons began writing for the Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer in early 2022. She is a 2001 homeschool graduate, has been a Wisconsin Supreme Court-Certified Spanish legal interpreter since 2007, and taught at a private English language school in Mexico for four years.
In announcing the appointment, Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer Publisher John Crowder said, “I am very pleased to announce Karyn Simmons as the new editor of the Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer. She has done a fantastic job over the last few months, and I am confident that our news site is in good hands with her at the helm.” Crowder, previously serving as editor, was recently elected Bannock County Commissioner in District 3 and is stepping down from the editor position in order to devote his full attention to his new role.
Simmons said, “I am honored that John Crowder trusts me to carry on his work at the Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer. I look forward to continuing its mission of being the community’s best source for local, conservative news.”
