Pocatello–After nearly a century of hosting dances, parties, dinners, and community events, the Bannock County Veterans Memorial Building needs the community to give back. Repairs are needed for the roof, brickwork, and foundation.
The Bannock County Veterans Memorial Association is holding a ‘Help Our Heroes’ dinner and auction on Saturday, September 23, to raise funds for needed building repairs. The announcement on the event’s Facebook page reads:
Join us for an evening of fun, food, drinks and auction items! This fundraising night is aimed at helping to keep the almost 100 year old historic Veterans Memorial Building standing for another 100 years. Funds raised will be used to stabilize her foundation, repair her roof and fix the holes in her bricks. Let’s help our heroes (and our community) by donating!
The ‘Help Our Heroes’ event will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a social hour, including a No-Host Bar. Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m., followed by a Dessert Frenzy at 6:30. There will be a Silent Auction from 5:00-7:30 p.m., and a Live Auction at 7:00 p.m. Tickets cost $25, and are available at eventbrite.com. The Memorial Building is located at 300 N Johnson Ave. in Pocatello.
Anyone wishing to donate auction items may contact the Board of the Bannock County Veterans Memorial Association.
