We’re entering Phase 3 of the rewrite of the county’s Land Use & Development Ordinance (LUDO) – and we want to share our progress with you!

Right now, our Planning & Development staff are busy combing through feedback from the Advisory Committee, Planning Council, and Commission to fine-tune the ordinance. In the meantime, we are extending the window for you to review the draft and share your thoughts on the direction we’re heading.

How You Can Participate

Note: All comments received during this period will be added to the official record for the upcoming public hearings (dates TBD).

It’s important to remember this is a working draft – which means there may be edits before we publish the version for the public hearings. We will post the public hearing dates as soon as they are scheduled to give everyone at least 15 days’ notice, as required by Idaho Code.

What is the LUDO? It’s a local rulebook for how land in a community can be used, built on, or divided. Right now, we have eight different, overlapping sets of rules. We’re working to replace them with one clear, consistent document that works for everyone. You can learn more about the project and what changes are being proposed at bannockcounty.gov/ourfuture.
