Members of the Pocatello High School Senior Class earned over $600 in tips today assisting with the AMVETS Idaho Post 1 monthly breakfast, sponsored by Idaho Central Credit Union, at the Bannock County Veterans Memorial Building.  The money earned will go toward this year’s Senior Night.

AMVETS Idaho Post 1 is part of the National AMVETS (American Veterans), the nation’s most inclusive Congressionally-chartered veterans service organization, representing the interests of 20 million veterans.  AMVETS is open to and fighting for all who honorably served in the U.S. military.

Pocatello’s local AMVETS Post has become well known in the community for their monthly breakfasts, and for other family-friendly activities, including picnics and movie nights.  The group sponsors a youth football team, the AMVETS Bears, holds an Americanism contest open to students in grades K-12 and fields an Honor Guard.  Other groups associated with AMVETS that have formed, or are forming, include AMVETS Auxiliary, Sons of AMVETS, and Junior AMVETS.
