Last Saturday, June 19, Idaho Representative Priscilla Giddings spoke to an enthusiastic crowd of several dozen at the latest of the Liberty Dinners, hosted by the Pocatello-Chubbuck Observer.

Giddings, who is currently running for Idaho Lieutenant Governor, began her talk with a military tradition, a series of toasts.  The crowd joined her in honoring America & the Founding Fathers, the men & women of the armed forces, first responders, and conservatives fighting for freedom, liberty, and limited government.

Describing her childhood, Giddings told the audience how a year-long trip to Israel when she was only 10 years-old expanded her worldview and gave her a deeper understanding of the promise that is America and the freedoms that we enjoy as Americans.

As a young girl, she set a goal of attending the U.S. Air Force Academy.  She accomplished this goal, and more, graduating from the Academy and going on to fly the A-10.

Turning to current matters, Giddings said, “I firmly believe in our republican principle of a limited government, which government is for the people and by the people…It was Lincoln who said, ‘We the People are the rightful masters of both the Congress and the Courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who would pervert the Constitution.'”

Giddings then discussed the outside money that is being poured into the State while socialist and communist ideas creep into Idaho institutions.  Using slides illustrating the Idaho state budget, she noted how increased taxing and spending policies are being pushed and harming the average Idahoan.

Giddings concluded by saying, “Thank you all for your support tonight, your willingness to stand up for our Republic, and your conservative values.  May God bless each one of you, keep and protect the great state of Idaho, and restore the United States of America.

The crowd responded with a standing ovation, after which Giddings met and spoke at length with all who wished to ask questions.
