POCATELLO–Reconnect Southeast Idaho informs the community that due to unforeseen circumstances, the upcoming class on “Understanding Trauma and Resistance” will be offered at a later date.
On Tuesday, July 12, in place of the Trauma class, Reconnect co-founder Ashley Smith will teach a class on making sourdough starter. Reconnect’s announcement reads,
This class is part 1 on sourdough making. It is going to cover:
- How to start your own sourdough “starter”
- How to take care of/maintain your starter
- What to do with your discard
- Health benefits of eating sourdough (Did you know, many people who are gluten intolerant can eat sourdough food products!! So exciting!)
Participants will have the opportunity to taste test a variety of sourdough treats. They will also be able to make their own starter, and will take home a recipe to help launch their sourdough baking.
This class will be held at Mountain Valley Baptist Church, located at 202 S. 7th Ave in Pocatello, from 7:00 p.m. until approximately 9:00 p.m. Advance is encouraged, and costs $5 per person. To sign up for the class, contact Reconnect Southeast Idaho at 208-572-0177 or message them on Facebook, here.
