Pocatello, ID–Today is the last day to sign up for the Farm Bureau’s 10th Annual Salute to Idaho Veterans. This free event will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 4, at the Farm Bureau’s Corporate Headquarters, located at 275 Tierra Vista Drive in Pocatello.
This year’s program includes a Meet and Greet, a Flag Ceremony, recognition of all veterans in attendance, a delicious lunch, and a presentation by guest speaker Brian Eisch.
The Farm Bureau’s webpage includes the following information about Eisch:
Brian Eisch began his 20-year Army career in 1992 at the age of 17. In 2010, the New York Times and Netflix began a 10-year journey following Brian throughout his deployment in Afghanistan and filming the effects it had on him and his young sons back home. While on a raid in 2010, Brian was shot three times in his legs. Though he endured debilitating pain and the eventual amputation of his leg, Brian is the first to say, “this is not the worst thing that ever happened to me.”
Brian’s numerous awards and decorations include the Bronze Star for Valor and the Purple Heart.
Veterans are invited to submit a photo of themselves during active duty, to be included in a slideshow that will play during the dinner. Both photos and RSVPs may be emailed to Mike Myers at mmyers@idfbins.com. Reservations can also be made by calling (208) 239-4276.
